Any thoughts on this episode? I thought it was pretty good even though I thought it was a little gruesome. I know we really didn't see the torture but hearing it made it gruesome enough. Wow! The torture was shocking to hear.
A couple of points I like to bring up. The first one being Locke. What was up with him? He planted the notion that Sawyer could have rigged the rocket up so that he could hit Sayid on the head. That notion stayed in Sayid's head and I believed it made him more aggressive towards Sawyer. It looks like Locke was being the devil in this one.
Secondly, I thought Kate enjoyed that kiss. Personally I thought the kiss went on a little too long. I know Sawyer wanted a kiss but that was going a little overboard, but I do believe she liked it even though she really didn't show it in her face. She showed it in the kiss.
Thirdly, Sawyer's story was interesting. I was shocked to find out that the writer of that letter was him. I'm glad that he didn't burn the letter because that letter is a reminder of what he had become. He never saw himself as that type of guy until he saw that little boy. Man, it hit him like a brickwall and now he is punishing himself for what he had become.
Forth, Charlie and Claire. Those two look like a sweet couple. Both of them seemed to be unwanted before they got on that plane and now they found each other. They make each other feel important. As I said, they are so sweet.
Fifth, I like Sayid. I really liked the fact that he realized that after what he did to Sawyer he couldn't trust himself. That part of his life he didn't want to go back to but he did and I think he thought he was weak because of it. Of course, we don't know his background yet but as of right now he seems to be a good character who realizes his faults.
Sixth, I was so glad to see Sun becoming more active and defying her husband. It was nice to see her be a part of the whole group. Good for her!
Finally, this episode really looked like "Lord of the Flies" because one group seemed civiled while others were savages (because of the torture) Will this remain? Will they become one or the other or split into two distinct groups? Who knows? All I know is that the episode showed how rules are important to human development. Without rules we become savages while with it we are not. Now how will this play out? I really like to know.
