So far, the race is pretty tight on the show...My vote is for Jin.

Maybe the big secret is that they are all asshats, and nature decided to drop them off on an island to start a new asshat colony.
I voted for Jin, because he needs to be offed. His wife just escaped death and hes worried about her appearance. Then after making her feel like nothing, he throws in "I love you". Probably as a way to further control her and make any bad thoughts she has about him after these attempts give her a guilt complex.

Heard that jj abrams is not opposed to killing off main charcters. I vote for Sawyer first. He is mean AND stupid!

No way to Saywer getting the boot. Didn't you see him reading the letter in the second episode? He's got a story we have to hear and there's obviously more to him than the gross display of manliness he puts on.

Sawyer seems to have some back story to delve into, so I would say he will be around awhile.

Well, they ALL have a backstory to delve into, and I, for one, will get bored quickly if it becomes a "backstory of the week" show...It will be Lost's version of "Monster of the Week" that killed Kochak, and nearly sunk X-Files in its first season.
I think they have more foresight than to do that, but they will have to tread that line closely.

I would say the first 8 episodes will probably have a flash back every episode, but I imagine it would fit into the theme of the show each week. Which I adore...I love when a show can successfully set up a theme that can run through all aspects.
Mostly they will probably do this so we can get a glimpse into all of their lives and touch upon each of their secrets without revealing them to us yet. Not to mention for a bit of change up, staring at an island non stop each week can be tedious im sure.

Boy, this thread has evolved!
What I'm hoping for, is the writing team's ability to shake things up like Alias did in the middle of the 2nd season. Are they willing to, when the story calls for it, to take these characters off the island?
I know that sounds absurd, as that's the basis for the show, but wasn't SD6 the core of Alias' plot, as well?

I would feel secure in saying they will be on the island for quite a while...but if there is more behind the crash (if it is government corruption/religously motivated) I would say some off island interaction could take place.
It is called Lost, and there are more ways to be lost in life then on an island.

I was sure expecting Charlie to get the boot this past week, though!
I had to go with Sawyer with this argument, the way he played Kate over the inhaler was verging on evil. Yes, Jin is an asshat for the way he treats his wife, but I don't think he's done anything to her that was a matter of life and death.

And, even when he was "nice" and handed over the manifest, it was only because he was told he could get some "points."

Jin is an ass because that's the way he was raised. Good point though.
